Monitoring a carsharing location with a webcam

I've always thought that using a web cam to view of a "problem vehicle" could be a good way to catch a thief. Several of the cameras in the $150 price category can automatically send an email if there is motion in the field of view. Of course you have to have some sort of internet connection for the web cam to talk to the internet over - but finding a wifi connection is getting easier.
